About Manchester Tours and Guide Services

Manchester Tours and Guide Services was established in 2006. Kate Dibble, Manager of the company, has been a registered ‘Blue Badge’ tour guide for Manchester and the North West for 25 years. After guiding on a part-time basis, she decided to guide full time in 2006, as there are so many great stories to tell about, and so much happening in Manchester and the surrounding regions!

Manchester Tours and Guide Services offer a professional and friendly service, and aim to add value to your visit to our wonderful city and region.

Blue Badge Guide Training

To achieve the standard required for the coveted Blue Badge qualification, guides are trained over a period of months and then assessed by oral, practical and written examinations. Thereafter they regularly improve their knowledge and keep up to date with developments in their region through ‘continuous professional development’.

Memberships

I am currently Chair of the Manchester Guild of Blue Badge Tourist Guides, and a member of the North West Guild of Tourist Guides.

I am also a member of Marketing Manchester, the Tourist Board for Greater Manchester, and in 2006 the Blue Badge Tour Guides won the ‘Manchester Recommends’ Tourism Award where readers of the Manchester Evening News voted us as their local favourite!

One further membership is that of the Institute of Tour Guides, the academic institution that aims to further develop the interests of tour guiding through training and standardisation.

As a member of the Manchester Guild of Tourist Guides I have comprehensive insurance coverage, covering both personal insurance and public liability insurance.
